Sioux Falls' only source of quality alternative film

The Sioux Falls Film Society was founded as a non-profit organization in 1995, primarily for the purpose of bringing alternative film to the region. Our main venue has been the Fall and Spring Film Series, through which we offer highly acclaimed, first-run foreign, artistic and independent film. The Series, sponsored in cooperation with the Augustana College Student Film Board, is presented in the Gilbert Science Center on the Augustana campus. While most local screens are filled with the latest offerings from Hollywood's marketing departments, the Society brings cutting edge productions featuring both accomplished artists and new talent. A few titles from our many offerings include Boys Don't Cry, Central Station, Thief, Pecker, Antonia's Line, Burnt by the Sun, Clerks, In the Company of Men, Mrs. Brown, Crumb, Waking Ned Devine and Shall We Dance. Each week-long film presentation is followed by a Saturday morning discussion group at Zandbroz Variety Store in downtown Sioux Falls. Watch our Coming Soon page for news of upcoming Series and related events.
